Principal Systems Analyst - Mainframe
The Team
Stock Plan Services Technology designs, develops, implements, and supports stock plan products and features.
Stock Plan Services (SPS) is an equity compensation services division of Fidelity Investments.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual with a proven track record of collaborating with business partners,
understanding business requirements, translating business requirements into system requirements, and making recommendations
regarding system functionality. This individual will work closely with squad leads, business analysts, architects, technology leads,
and agile teams to ensure successful delivery of program milestones and adherence of the deliverables to the product roadmaps.
The Expertise You Have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in systems analysis, with a strong background in software solutions definition and development.
- Demonstrated expertise in systems development methodologies and formal documentation processes.
- Proven ability to deliver on complex technology projects
- Strong understanding of the technology and software architecture of applications, focus on mainframe systems
- Willingness to dive into code for analysis and support purposes.
- Agile/Scrum experience (required).
- Experience in the Financial Services sector (preferred).
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across various business units.
- Proficiency in mainframe programming languages (e.g., COBOL, PL/I, Assembler).
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Experience with mainframe tools and utilities (e.g., JCL, CICS, DB2).

- Collaborate with partners, technology leads, and agile teams.
- Partner with other SPS program teams to identify program inter-dependencies, overlaps, and re-use opportunities.
- Participate in backlog refinement sessions.
- Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
- Research and evaluate alternative solutions.
- Define the scope of problems/issues in terms of business and/or system requirements and processes.
- Evaluate the design of existing and in-development systems to assess their functionality, dependability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with Agile team members to develop comprehensive and cohesive solution approaches.
- Ensure complete acceptance test criteria are provided for all system requirements.
- Produce and/or maintain system feature design documentation and user training materials.
