The Role

This Principal Machine Learning Engineer opportunity would be great for someone looking to utilize their existing skillsets in addition to learning new technologies! We'll be working together to analyze, develop and deploy new machines learning applications using python, java, NLP, GenAI, LLM, machine learning. This is a great opportunity to develop T-shaped skills! You are comfortable working with a small team of developers in a fast paced and highly ambiguous environment working with emerging and new technologies, high risks, and uncertainty.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Master's in AI/ML, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics or Finance (with a background in Machine learning), with 6+ years plus of industrial experience.
  • Outstanding teamwork skills working with product owners, analysts, software architects, software engineers and quality engineers
  • Experience serving as a strong hands-on technical team member producing clean, unit-tested code.
  • Experience applying Software Engineering Architecture and Design Patterns (OO, Functional, REST)
  • Strong knowledge of and demonstrated Hands-On Experience with Python
  • Strong knowledge of and demonstrated Hands-On Experience in integrating Machine Learning Model services with existing runtime conversation handling system
  • Strong knowledge of and demonstrated Hands-On Experience in building and evaluating Natural Language Processing Related Machine Learning Models
  • Strong knowledge of machine learning, GenAI, LLM, prompt engineering, model training and productization.
  • Strong knowledge of MLOps, machine learning development lifecycle and software development and delivery cycle.
  • Experience in Cloud technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure
  • Experience in building REST APIs with python and/or Java/Spring.
  • Experience in Java/J2EE is nice to have.
  • Passion for continuous integration and continuous delivery
  • Understanding and awareness of solution compliance, governance and quality needs
  • Ability to understand and translate business requirements to appropriate solutions
  • Ability to work independently with moderate to minimal guidance
  • Ability to work collaboratively with business partners and Enterprise peers who may have developed resuable capabilities we can incorporate to the prime products.
  • 6 - 10 Years of software development experience
  • 3 - 5 Years of developing machine learning model or GenAI LLM experience

The Team

The Prime Brokerage Team, within Fidelity Institutional Technology (FIT), is seeking " Principal Machine Learning Engineer " to join the team to help build and maintain high quality product and solutions to enable custody business. We are looking for a person who has hands-on Machine Learning experience building cloud-based systems using modern, scalable, resilient, Cloud native architectures (Containers and Serverless). This role will involve partner & stakeholder engagement, design, release support and production support. In this role, you will be an integral part of the prime brokerage team where you'll get the opportunity to develop your skills, collaborate across Fidelity teams and continue to learn in a fun, collaborative, iterative, and rapidly changing environment.

The base salary range for this position is $76,000-$144,000 per year.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
