Job Title : Lead - Software Engineering

The Purpose of This Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Software Engineer to join our Fidelity Health Benefits Platform (FHB) team within Workplace Investing (WI) . As a member of the FHB Product Development team, you will design, develop, and own scalable and resilient enterprise-grade solutions that powers FHB's platform capabilities. Using modern technology stacks and cloud-native architectures, you will build and continuously enhance systems aligning with enterprise software development practices. This role empowers you to contribute across the full development lifecycle while collaborating with multi-functional teams.

Technical

  • Advanced Java & Microservices: Designs and develops scalable microservices using Spring Boot
  • Database Design: Strong SQL skills with experience in schema design and performance tuning
  • Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • CI/CD & Monitoring: Improves pipelines, uses monitoring tools
  • System Design: Contributes to component and system-level design
  • Security Practices: Implements secure development practices and mentors others
  • Full-Stack Development: Preferred experience with frontend frameworks (e.g., Angular, Typescript)
  • Event-Driven Architecture: Familiar with ActiveMQ and messaging patterns
  • Dev Assist Tools: Familiar with GitHub Copilot, Gemini for code reviews and refactoring
  • Mentorship & Collaboration: Mentors junior engineers, collaborates across teams

The Expertise We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree - Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems with 4-8 years experience
  • Proficiency in Java, REST API, Spring Framework , SQL
  • Experience with enterprise grade distributed application and support
