The Role
Looking for a new and exciting role? We in the Fixed Income Operations Team within FFIO (Fidelity Fund Investment Operations) are hiring an Analyst, Fixed Income Trade Operations and this could be the job for you. In this role you will be collaborating within a team environment to efficiently handle daily work volumes and quality standards. Trade analysts work closely with the desk, broker-dealer community, and the custodian bank network to facilitate settlement in over 70 countries worldwide. This role requires extraordinary attention to detail, while working in a time critical environment and thinking outside of the box. In addition to the technical aspect of the role, the Analyst also performs project work, looks for process improvements, partakes in training and development.
- Monitor trade instruction and delivery to custodian banks
- Facilitate the accurate and timely delivery of critical business information to all interested parties
- Provide trade confirmation / affirmation and settlement support for the Fixed Incomes asset class
- Bring failed trades to a resolution by communicating with Brokers and Custodian banks
- Communicate/ escalate issues and take initiative to resolved problems
- Participate as a Subject Matter Expert on projects
- Assist in the development and review for departmental policies and procedures
- Collaborate within a team environment to successfully manage daily work volumes and quality standards
- Provide timely coaching to staff on day-to-day responsibilities
- Identify and resolve problems related to transactions or investment data in a timely fashion following established guidelines
The Expertise & Skills You Bring
- 3+ years of relevant financial operations industry experience, preferably in Trade / Custody Operations.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Solid knowledge of the custody operations business, industry practices and tools strongly preferred
- Solid knowledge of the fixed income/debt operational environment and market settlement practices strongly preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team as well work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously within a tight timeframe
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; with the ability to work with others implementing solutions.
- Knowledge of business acumen and industry practices
- The ability to recognize high-risk items and raise those items or seek assistance to minimize loss to either the shareholder and/or Fidelity
- Ability to develop validated action plans to resolve daily operational issues/ problems

The Team
FFIO Trade Operations provides trade support to Fidelity's domestic and international equity, high yield, foreign exchange, and fixed income/money market trading desks located in Boston, Merrimack, London, and Hong Kong. The group is responsible for trade operations to support FMR, FMTC, SAI, FIAM and FIC accounts. In addition to the various external counterparts that the trade analysts deal with, there are also several internal groups that assist in the group's daily responsibilities, including Compliance, Treasurer's Office, Counterparty Risk, Legal, FMTC, Fund Accounting, and other Custody groups.
