The FSQA Manager (Food Safety and Quality Systems) leads the plant’s food safety and regulatory programs, overseeing compliance, training, and quality performance across the facility. This role partners closely with corporate leadership, plant operations, and QA staff to ensure adherence to all customer, regulatory, and internal standards. You’ll also manage and mentor a team including superintendents, supervisors, and the HACCP coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all food safety and quality efforts on-site, driving a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement

  • Oversee HACCP, SSOP, and regulatory programs; ensure plans are current, effective, and reassessed annually

  • Hold FSQA team members accountable for execution of responsibilities and performance standards

  • Manage departmental budget and provide financial reporting to both facility and corporate leadership

  • Analyze process data and customer feedback to identify trends, mitigate risk, and enhance food safety

  • Review and approve responses to NR’s and ensure alignment with corporate food safety policy

  • Lead performance reviews, development plans, and hiring initiatives for FSQA personnel

  • Conduct floor audits, walk paths, and provide leadership visibility across QA shifts

  • Stay current on export requirements, food claims, SPC initiatives, and industry best practices

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Meat Science, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience may be considered

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in food safety and quality assurance, preferably in a USDA-regulated facility

  • HACCP Certified through an accredited International HACCP Alliance course (required)

  • Proven ability to manage teams, lead audits, and influence cross-functional stakeholders

  • Strong knowledge of USDA/FDA regulations, food safety principles, and QA methodologies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort with data/statistical analysis tools
