Job Description:
Responsible for planning, developing, implementing and managing all aspects of the sign language program to provide signed language interpreting services for deaf and hard of hearing employees and patients of all ages, ensuring that communication with people who have a hearing loss is as effective as communication with others. Provides direction and supervision for casual on-call staff interpreters, as well as overseeing utilization of independent agency interpreters as needed. Develops and coordinates an educational program to ensure that physicians and staff of Essentia Health are responsive to the needs of hearing impaired employees and patients. Reviews the availability of TTY/TDD access and/or assistive listening devices (ALD.) Ensures prompt, courteous, tactful and effective interpreter services throughout Essentia Health in accordance with organization policies and procedures.Work Experience:2 years interpreting experience, preferably in a medical setting.Want more jobs like this?

Education Qualifications:
Completion of a nationally accredited interpreter training program or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
- National Association of the Deaf (NAD) Level 5 Certification or Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) CI/CT Certification or National Interpreter Certifications (NIC) within one year of hire
