Sr. Account Executive 1, Mid-Market Sales

Job Summary
The Associate Account Executive maintains relationships with a base of existing small to mid-size accounts. Manages contract renewals as well as upsell opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Identify customer's business needs, challenges and technical requirements and match to Equinix solutions; leverage external partners to recommend solutions
- Responsible for daily account management of existing Equinix customers based on assigned territory including monthly recurring and non-recurring transactions, upsell opportunities, contract renewals and positioning Equinix's global platform
- Responsible for maintaining or increasing existing monthly recurring revenue of assigned Equinix customers
- Engage and influence broad set of decision makers within client base
- Responsible for securing long-term contractual relationships with existing customers
- Supports and promotes corporate strategy and initiatives
- Exceed an annual sales quota
- Pipeline management; Monitors and provides updates on status of each account to grow future business and provide accurate forecasts
Qualifications
- 1+ years of successful inside sales experience with strong account management capabilities preferred
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Salesforce.com and Oracle/Seibel (a plus)
- Strong analytical skills required; ability to analyze statistical data and make appropriate decisions and recommendations
- Strong presentation skills - on the phone or in-person
- Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills
- Experience in Internet Infrastructure / Cloud IT computing, etc.
- Proven ability to work well as part of an extended sales team
