Controls Engineer

We are currently looking for a Controls Engineer who will be responsible for Data Center control system maintenance, control system support and leading small projects.

Responsibilities

System Operation and Work Practices

  • Performs maintenance and repairs on control systems, and develops SOWs for complex control system maintenance and replacement projects within a moderate scope
  • Participate in call out rota to provide support for Data Center control systems.
  • Program PLC/BMS controllers for upgrade projects and system changes.
  • Configure Aveva System Platform for upgrade projects and system changes.
  • Review, approve and manage control system documentation including SOO, control panel drawings and network topology.
  • Manage Data Center controls network changes including, expansion, IP address assignment and fault finding.
  • Leads small controls system upgrade projects
  • Supports large site wide control system retrofit projects.

Problem-Solving

  • Identifies and understands underlying issues; differentiates key elements from the irrelevant or trivial
  • Can identify and correct component-level fault

Internal/External Contact

  • Interacts with and may provide direction to internal and external project teams
  • Assists in directing teams as per project or initiative such as General Contractors, design teams, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers, etc.
  • Internal and external written and verbal communication to include detailed analysis and reports
  • Become control system subject matter expert to advise site teams

Technical Expertise

  • Utilizes developed understanding of typical electrical, fire protection, and HVAC system operation.
  • Knowledge of control systems to diagnose and repair advanced technical difficulties

Training

  • Acquires knowledge by expanding experience with systems, vendor training and shadowing others
  • Provides feedback on training programs

What we are looking for

  • Experience in control system design, operations, maintenance, and project planning with an emphasis and special focus on controls preferred.
  • Knowledge of Schneider PLC, Aveva System Platform or Schneider EBO preferred.
