Shipping Material Handler- 1st Shift

Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Shipping Material Handler- 1st Shift. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 am until 2:30 pm. The rate for this position is $21.94 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, and market and business considerations.

What you'll do:

  • Responsible for unloading and loading raw material from trucks and/or other departments to keep flow of product smooth and efficient.
  • Move raw material in a safe manner and dispose of scrap.
  • Operate forklifts.
  • Store, space, and deliver materials or products.
  • Stack pallets and arrange materials.
  • May be required to palletize and secure material as needed.
  • Receive training on use of power truck and other powered material handling equipment (ex. walking crane or hoist).
  • Perform 5S & Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Use the spotter truck to move flatbed and dry van trailers as needed or required.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Valid state issued driver's license required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of Sherman, TX will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong product knowledge.
  • Forklift experience both stand up and sit down.

Position Criteria:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. alone occasionally to frequently, and up to 100 lbs. with assistance occasionally by stooping, reaching, bending.
  • Ability to follow directions, work independently, and pay close attention to detail.
  • Work as part of a team having responsibility for assembling an entire product or component of a product.
  • Ability to reach, grasp and manipulate.
  • Ability to work mandatory overtime, including Saturdays and up to 12 hours in a shift, as needed by the business.
  • Ability to stand for the duration of the shift (eight to twelve hours) and perform repetitious tasks.
