What you'll do:

Job Summary
Use technical process expertise in manufaturing process, including design feasibility analysis and process development (APQP), to drive the successful approval 9PPAP) and launch of components within the Global Supply Base; drive audits and suppliers qualification, continuous improvement actions such as Lean Manufacturing, Scrap Reduction, Design Improvements, and Capability Improvements in the components for Eaton's supply base.

Job Responsibilities

  • Drives process and systemic quality improvements, at assigned supplier sites, through the use of quality tools (SPC, Lean, Six Sigma) and validates improvements through defined measurables to reduce quality non-conformances .
  • Continually monitors assigned suppliers Performance status (PPM and DMR). Works with suppliers and plant SQA to implement effective 8D corrective action and comprehensive performance improvement plans as required.
  • Conducts Quality/System/Techinical Assessment, in support of new sourcing, to determine if a supplier's quality system meets Eaton's performance thresholds. Set Action Plans to fulfill gaps found on the assessment, support and assure implementation plan.
  • Participates on commodity regional commodity strategy teams and provides the quality detail required to define strategy and to support strategy implementation.
  • Works collaboratively with plant SQA and acts as point of escalation for major supplier issues.
  • Performs fundamental data analysis (Quality systems, PPM, DMR) to determine performance level of responsible suppliers and drive action plans as required.
  • Assists, as required, in training of staff (supplier and Eaton staff) on supplier development procedures, processes and work instructions.
  • Supports error proofing in the design stage through design & manufacturability reviews held with Product Engineer and suppliers, prior to source selection.
  • Drive Error Proofing culture and maintenance in suppliers.
  • Works in accordance with Eaton's defined Supplier Development Procedures, Processes, and Work instructions. "

Qualifications:

Education level required


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, (technical fields such as Mechanical, Mechatronics, Materials, or related disciplines).

Mandatory:

  • Relevant experience in Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, and/or specific manufacturing processes.
  • Solid knowledge of PPAP, APQP, MSA, and SPC (experience with part development processes).
  • Previous experience as a supplier auditor.
  • Intermediate English (frequent interaction with international peers and leadership).
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time - mostly within the state of São Paulo, occasionally to the South and Minas Gerais.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills due to constant interaction with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Ability to analyze and monitor supplier performance based on quality indicators.

Preferred:

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Previous experience in the automotive industry (not mandatory, but a strong plus).
  • Knowledge of quality tools such as FMEA, MASP, 8D, Ishikawa, etc.
