Eaton's ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. This role is located at our facility in Greenwood, SC. Relocation will be offered to those residing the US and live outside a 50 mile radius of the facility

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91500.03 - $134200.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:

Our Lead Manufacturing Engineer will coordinate all manufacturing engineering activities for the assigned products, ledgers and/or plants. Leads/Coordinates all Operational Excellence activities related CI, ELSS, Customer Satisfaction, and Cost Saving and facility projects.

  • Work with the operations team and supervisors to meet Greenwood Operational Excellence and Quality objectives.
  • Work with stakeholders across Greenwood Sales, Engineering and Operations to ensure end-to-end quality goals are met and exceeded.
  • Direct activities associated with Quality, Engineering and Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS) to achieve plant-wide improvements.
  • Establish and track meaningful goals for their department in alignment with the Eaton Business System and Greenwood Plant Opex goals.
  • Lead the manufacturing engineering/quality actions associated with new product launches.
  • Assist the site EHS manager in the deployment of MESH related action items.
  • Assist in the development of short and long-term lean and cost-out strategies. Drive lean implementation locally, meeting cost-out goals, CONC reduction goals and Customer Requested Ship Date targets. Oversee and coordinate lean and cost-out initiatives
  • Manage the ECN process to ensure robust deployment and communication of all ECNs to key stakeholders.
  • Act as the Key Liaison between operations and the MOL/Design engineering group to recommend product design changes to improve quality, cost, productivity and ergonomics.
  • Drive ELSS tools at the Greenwood plant by standardizing processes and promoting sharing of best practices. Identify cost-out opportunities and overall process improvements, creating documented action plans. Lead the development of future state maps and implementation
  • Coordinate/Lead continuous improvement projects to drive improvement in CONC/Cost Out metrics.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Three (3) years experience leading process improvement projects
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and within the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six Sigma experience and/or certification

Skills:

  • Ability to guide / direct other team members
  • Lead and monitor product and process improvements and ensure quality and productivity issues are resolved by eliminating the root cause.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of problem solving techniques/tools including six sigma, 8D, QOS, balanced scorecard and goal setting.
  • An understanding of / experience with deployment of production system concepts.
  • Represents the Opex. Department in various teams in order to help assess the financial impact of plant improvement projects.
  • Acts as a catalyst for improvement both within the department and plant.
