Eaton's IS VEH Power Connections division is currently seeking a Quality Manager. This position is based at our Carol Stream, IL manufacutring facility. Relocation assistance is available for candidates who currently reside in the United States.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $105000.03 - $154000.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:

Overview: The Quality Manager is part of the senior leadership team at the Carol Stream plant reporting to the Plant Manager. This individual will lead quality assurance efforts and compliance of required standards for the facility including IATF, ISO, CSR, EQMS, EBEA and all other quality initiatives. They will also maintain continuous focus on process improvement.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creating, maintaining and deploying appropriate Procedures and Systems to ensure continued compliance with CSRs, industry standards (IATF/ISO) and EQMS.
  • Reports results of quality performance indicators for the operation (plant level and corporate): Customer DPPM, Internal DPPM, Supplier DPPM, CONC- COPQ (Warranty/Scrap/Rework), Internal Quality Alerts, Non-conforming material quality Communication, external component quality alerts (L1-L2-L3), A3s, 8Ds, 3ups as needed, others as defined by the business. Responsible for planning and execution of action plans for failed indicators.
  • Responsible for controls implementation for manufacturing processes: Control Plan, Measurement System Analysis, Process Capabilities, and overall Corrective/Preventive Actions (CAPA) effective implementation.
  • Develop and analyze statistical data and product / process specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability requirements for finished products.
  • Ensure that process changes needed that impact the Quality Management System (QMS) are controlled, implemented, and maintained as applicable.
  • Manages resources to enable QA (Quality Assurance) personnel to fulfill their responsibility.
  • Support the successful implementation of new products, or projects, acting in NPD and STP projects as a function expert and in the role of gate keeper, Work Package Approver (WPA) or DGC member, as applicable.
  • Act as a key contributor in the development and deployment of functional strategy in alignment with the annual profit plan and EBS Pull activities.
  • Develop and analyze customer data and process performance information to recommend and implement improvement of the quality metrics for all relevant products.
  • Drive optimization of overall QA activities. Promote a positive quality culture by establishing a robust quality management system and a demonstrated process focus.

Qualifications:

Required Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar technical discipline from an accredited institution
  • Five (5+) or more years of experience in a quality engineering related role within a manufacturing environment
  • One (1+) or more years of experience as a manager of people in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future
  • Previous experience with Root cause analysis tools - E.g. 6-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5P, Ishikawa Analysis (fish bone)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
  • In depth experience in an IATF environment including quality, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) experience is highly desired, including associated tools such as characteristics matrices, process flow diagrams, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEAs), Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
  • Advanced knowledge of OEM quality standards, systems, and processes

Skills:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in managing, developing and coaching employees
  • Strong understanding of statistical process control and how to use data to drive decisions
