Manufacturing Engineer
Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer. This role is based out of our Worcester, MA location.
Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for manufacturing engineering activities for all product lines in the facility. This position reporting to the Quality Manager of the Worcester, MA plant operations is responsible for manufacturing engineering activities for all product lines in the facility.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $67500.0 - $99000.0 a year.

What you'll do:
- Supports and leads the strategic direction to attain future state objectives and ensuring sound engineering, manufacturing and EBS principles such as Eaton Lean Six Sigma Tools are being followed.
- Ensure all processes meet or exceed Eaton Safety (MESH - machine safety) and quality standards by supporting MESH requirements, gage R&R, capability studies, 8D, and root cause & corrective action activities to support failure analysis, as required.
- Plan, Review, Support, conduct, and assist in driving the Value stream mapping process to move from the current state to the future state processes based on the strategic and annual plan.
- Assist in the Research, Determination, composition, and evaluation of Capital Appropriation Requests (including payback and net present value analysis) for acquisition of new equipment, tooling, materials and other resources needed to support and offer solutions to resolve problems. This includes support emerging and existing technologies
- Ability to Handle and Lead multiple projects and event that Lead to attaining cost-Savings objects and promotes culture of continuous improvement. This requires working with Manufacturing Engineering and Design to implement process to realize product design and standardization objectives to allow for industrialization of new and existing products.
- Apply Continuous improvement techniques as means to eliminate waste, reduce variation and deliver products to customer's expectations, through process improvement and Maintenance of Line activities. Such as determining the best utilization of equipment, facilities, material flow and personnel. Investigate and troubleshoot technical problems
- Supports, Develops and maintain robust, cost efficient processes and product structures, including multiple forms of Standard work such as Time Studies, Operations sheets, BOMs, Cross Training charts, routings, item masters, work instructions, control plans, tooling, gauging, and ETC. consistent with continuous improvement practices.
- Interfaces with the Plant Manager, Operational Excellence Manager, Operations Manager, Supervisor, Quality and Design Engineering to implement short and long-term solutions to address issues in a production environment
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited institution
• Minimum 1 internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Worcester, MA will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
• Exposure to QFD and Six Sigma design concepts related to problem solving, critical to quality parameters, DFMA and dFMEA etc.
• A proficient knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and welding methods. Also a broad scope of applicable knowledge in other related design and processing disciplines including (but not limited to) plastic injection molding, plastic and aluminum extrusion, casting, wood fabrication, machining, etc.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage and prioritize several concurrent projects.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations related to stress and strength. Analytical skills related to the use of FEA (such as Ansys) and (or) CFD (such as Flowtherm) is desirable.
• Exposure and knowledge related to lean manufacturing processes and tooling requirements.
• Proficient knowledge of the relationship of ergonomic and aesthetic industrial design concepts as they relate to user interactive product design.
• Proficient usage of 3D Parametric solid modeling software, preferably Pro-e. Also strong computer skills with a working knowledge of typical business applications such as MS Office.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards that relate to the design of products.
