Human Resources Manager
Eaton's GEIS division is currently seeking a Human Resources Manager to support our Troy, IL facility.
What you'll do:
The primary function for this position is to be a high performing business partner leading the HR function for the Troy, IL manufacturing site. As an integral member of the leadership team for the site, you will have overall responsibility for developing, directing, coordinating and maintaining all talent initiatives. This role will be responsible for the development and deployment of HR policies, programs, processes, and best practices throughout the manufacturing facility. The incumbent will be responsible for managing day-to-day employee and labor relations in accordance with legal, divisional, and corporate guidelines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A. Lead the HR function and strategy for approximately 20 salaried employees and 200 union hourly employees across a 3-shift operation
B. Develop HR talent by mentoring and developing the site's HR Business Partner
C. Drive positive employee/labor relations to provide an optimal work environment for all employees. Effectively deploy communication plans and utilize assessment tools (e.g. employee survey) to determine organizational issues & action plans. Exemplify and lead Eaton values, philosophy & ethics.
D. Manage labor relations with the local union which includes facilitating proper adherence to the collective bargaining agreement, partnering with union leadership and leading contract negotiations
E. Build organizational capability through ownership of talent management processes including assessment, performance management, employee development and succession planning
F. Manage local compensation for both salaried and hourly workforce, including benchmarking within Eaton & external marketplace data
G. Support plant operations through planning headcount & manning levels & recruitment of all levels of staff, as required
H. Lead in a variety of health and safety initiatives including but not limited to: Safety Category champion, Employee Engagement Team Lead, Ergonomics Team co-lead, and other safety/environmental programs established for the facility for a safe work environment
I. Implement, promote and maintain a safe work environment by implementing a zero-incident culture
J. Coach and influence leadership regarding policies, practices, laws and regulations to ensure all human resource policies and programs follow local and governmental regulatory requirements and are driving an engaged culture
K. Develop and deploy effective training process to meet the current and future needs of the strategic plans of the organization
L. Facilitate a culture where best practices are shared across HR and the business and identify opportunities for synergy and integration between Electrical Sector Groups. Benchmark industry and local best practices to set stretch performance targets.
M. Facilitates the design and implementation of impactful change initiatives that ensure the best possible solution for all major constituents, including employees, customers, shareholders, etc.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum of four (4) years of human resources generalist / business partner experience of increasing responsibility
• Minimum of two (2) years experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Business or Human Resources from an accredited institution
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Prior labor relations experience, including overseeing the adherence to a collective bargaining agreement & participating in contract negotiations
• PHR or SPHR certification
Position Criteria:
• Proficient in project management
• High level of proficiency with MS Office products/database management skills
