Eaton's ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a HR Generalist. This role will support our Syracuse, NY facility. Relocation is not provided for this position. This HR Generalist role will serve as a key point of contact for employees to connect with the human resources department, while promoting Eaton values and providing courteous and timely service to all employees.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $67500.0 - $99000.0 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
What you'll do:
You will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the human resource department and other supporting departments.
In this role you will:
- Lead various employee relations activities such as management coaching, conducting investigations, and supporting the performance management process.
- Lead hourly and salaried talent acquisition and management activities.
- Build organizational capability by supporting Eaton talent management and organizational effectiveness initiatives in areas such as succession planning, organizational capability reviews, leadership development training, and performance management.
- Coach and influence peers and leadership regarding policies, practices, as well as laws and regulations to ensure all human resource policies and programs follow local and governmental regulatory requirements and are driving an engaged culture.
- Serve as local subject matter expert for employee benefits and payroll questions, coordinating with remote centralized HR shared service center and payroll teams as necessary, and coordinate benefits enrollment meetings, communications, and processes.
- Assists in the preparation of contract negotiations with the Local Union. Support the grievance and disciplinary process, interpret contract language and advise on day-to-day matters related to wages, benefits and working conditions to maintain consistent, fair and equitable treatment of employees.
- Generate and analyze regular and ad-hoc reports for regulatory, budgeting, and auditing purposes.
- Facilitate and participate in company-wide committees in support of the overall Eaton goals, such as wellness, community involvement, and I&D initiatives.
- Partner with HR Services to complete wage assessment and develop market adjustment proposals as needed.
- Facilitate the onboarding & orientation activities as well as the end employment process for both voluntary and involuntary separations.
- Prepare and distribute HR related communications.
- Assist with planning and execution of special events such as organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
Qualifications:
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum two (2) years of generalist human resources, labor relations, or employee relations work experience.
- Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in business or human resources from an accredited institution.
- Minimum one (1) year work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in a unionized environment.
- Professional HR Certification (i.e., PHR or SPHR)
