Electro-Mechanical Assembler
Eaton's ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Electro-Mechanical Assembler. Eaton's Mississauga, Ontario site is a central hub for our electrical sector and is one of six Eaton Satellite locations across Canada. This strategic site is designed to support our larger manufacturing facilities and dedicated to meeting local market requirements, ensuring that we can effectively serve our customers. What you'll do:
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Electrical Assembler is responsible for wiring of all electrical switchgear and assemblies as well as installation and wiring of all electrical controls. The assembler will interpret manufacturing information documents in order to ensure compliance to Quality standards, and make the necessary adjustments in order to meet those standards, as well as meeting the expectation
This role is located at one of our Eaton Satellite locations (6 in total), which are located across Canada and comprise of smaller to medium assemble-to-order facilities and complement our large manufacturing facilities within Canada. Local site product lines may include; standard panelboards, switchboard, control and custom control product assemblies as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Review, interpret and work from drawings, schematics, shop packs, and process plans
• Wire complex assemblies and install components according to specifications
• Assemble electrical control panels, sub-assemblies, and mechanical structures
• Use various fixtures, gauges, and wiring tools to assemble, adjust, or repair product.
• Install components and modify as necessary
• Perform in-process inspections and make adjustments to meet quality standards
• Ensure compliance with Eaton's High 5 focus areas: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with 5S principles.
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the internal materials replenishment system
• Accurately pick materials from inventory and resolve shortages with supervision
• Participate in departmental continuous improvement efforts
• Work overtime as needed and in accordance with policy and legislative guidelines
• Support other departments, such as mechanical assembly or fabrication, when required

Basic Qualifications:
- Completion of High School or GED equivalent is required.
- Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 35lbs alone) and work in a physically demanding environment
- Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
- Min 1 year wiring experience of all electrical assemblies as well as installation and wiring of all electrical controls.
- Must reside within 80km of the Mississauga facility.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Diploma in electrical engineering is considered an asset
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment

• Knowledge / experience with hand and power tools
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
• Understands mechanical and electrical theory, techniques, concepts, practices and some testing requirements
• Understands CSA manufacturing techniques, requirements and mechanical and electrical theory

Working Conditions:
• Risk control measures and/or personal protective equipment must be utilized for laceration, pinch point, mechanical and other safety hazards. Please refer to the workstation risk assessment for the applicable control measures that must be utilized.
• Environmental Conditions
Hand powered tools and other machinery may lead to excessive noise; employees must wear appropriate hearing protection as necessary
• Physical Demands
Ergonomic stressors may include:
- Heavy and awkward parts
- Lifting, pushing, or pulling components and parts up to 35 lbs.
- Repetitive motion
- Material handling
- Long periods of standing
