Eaton's Corporate team is seeking a Corporate Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager to support our CI initiatives across the global enterprise. This position can be based remotely within the Eastern or Central time zones in the US, preferably within 50 miles of a major airport. At least 50% travel is expected.
In this role, you will be responsible for implementing the enterprise-wide standard Continuous Improvement program. This role entails fostering a problem-solving culture (Lean and Six Sigma), institutionalizing CI management system elements, and ensuring the sustainability of Continuous Improvement as part of the Eaton Continuous Improvement System (ECIS). The CI SME Manager will collaborate with Business CI Directors and Region/Division CI Managers to deploy the strategy, with an emphasis on key sites.

You will serve as a Problem-Solving Sensei (Subject Matter Expert) to the CI, Manufacturing, and Quality organizations throughout Eaton. You will focus on driving and enhancing organizational performance starting from the key plants and those with quality and productivity issues across Eaton. Furthermore, you will act as a mentor, coach, and trainer for ECIS tools (Lean, Six Sigma, RedX) and the Management System.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $123750.0 - $181500.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:
Job Responsibilities:
- Build Organizational Capability and drive focus site improvements
- Partner and influence CI leaders/ Master Black Belts/CI Managers to institutionalize a model for executing the Problem Solving / Six Sigma and management system elements
- Deploy Leadership Excellence Program (Focused training for President/GMs, Ops VPs, Ops Directors, Plant Managers, and Frontline Leaders) and build CI fundamentals (VSM, Daily Accountability, Leader Standard Work, Problem Solving and Gemba Walk) across the organization
- Drive problem solving culture in corporate functional organization and build CI capability in functional organization
- Lead focus site CI culture development, maturity, capability, and sustainment
- Drive Problem Solving Kaizens (A3) and Six Sigma Yellow Belt at every level of the organization to institutionalize Problem Solving as part of organization DNA.
- Drive Six Sigma and Red X deployment
Coach and Mentor ECIS Assessors and sites on ECIS maturity
Training and Developments:
- Contribute to Six Sigma training and development.
- Serve as a Sensei of ECIS tools and management system elements for CI, Quality, and Six Sigma professionals.
- Act as Red X tool expert.
- Drive the deployment of ECIS-Self Assessment Criteria.
- Support educational activities like plant manager training, executive leadership training, Strategy Deployment, VRKs, Problem Solving Kaizens, etc.
- Own and support the deployment of ECIS tools, processes, and standards through Business CI leaders.
- Review and enhance Problem Solving and Six Sigma training courses for employees, managers, senior leaders, and executives to maintain quality, accuracy, and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business, or similar discipline from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 8 years experience in lean manufacturing, operations, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence supporting multiple manufacturing sites
- Six Sigma/CI Certifications (Green Belt or higher)
- Must be able to travel 50% of the time, including both domestic and international travel
- Must be able to work in the US now and in the future without company sponsorship
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant experience preferred
Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor others in the Problem Solving and methodology
- Excellent Instructor and influence skills to enable visible and collaborative leadership
- Ability to lead effectively and drive alignment across a complex global matrixed environment
- Ability and experience working with Senior leaders (Ops Directors, CI Directors and Plan managers) in driving Continuous Improvement
- Flexibility and resilience, poise under pressure, adapting plans to changing circumstances
Technical knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing process, Lean tools, and problem-solving/six sigma experience in multiple different manufacturing environment.
- Certified and Active Six Sigma Belt as a must (by SBTI or a similar recognized organization)
- Demonstrated track record of success in areas of Lean and Six Sigma, with an emphasis on Problem Solving
- Experience in deploying CI strategy across the organization
