Eaton Corporation's Vehicle Group has an opening for a Business Unit Director for the ePowertrain products globally. This person will report directly to the Sr Vice President Technology & Global Products. This position will be based in Southfield, MI.
Position Overview:
The Business Unit Director will execute market outgrowth of the product lines (ePowertrain) for the Vehicle Group. This includes setting direction through product line strategic planning, product portfolio management, driving current product improvement and cost reduction efforts. This person will also support key customer relationships, develop differentiated products and unique value propositions, ensuring flawless program launches and creating effective global manufacturing strategies. The Director will work through direct and cross-functional leadership of resources within the Vehicle Group Global Products Team, as well as Regional and Functional resources.

Essential Functions:
• Direct the planning, development, and execution of the strategic business plan to achieve global growth objectives. Partner with Regional leaders and sales teams to drive product growth in each Region.
• Define the growth and marketing strategy by fully understanding the global markets and market requirements and translate into service and product solutions. Partner with the Regional teams to capture VOC and to ensure that product and customer strategies are driven across multiple regions.
• Own the portfolio management process for the product line, which includes evaluating each opportunity based on its strategic significance and fit for Eaton and determining which products will be developed.
• Provide oversight for all global programs, ensuring Focus 5 metrics are achieved for all launches around the world.
• Define product roadmap with direct linkage to the technology roadmap, including adjacent and New Space portfolio development when appropriate.
• Demonstrate full ownership of the product life cycle, including aftermarket, service, and end of product life.
• Define the value proposition and pricing strategy for the product line, ensuring proper SPCs are completed, and winning business propositions are established.
• Identify specific opportunities to drive profitability improvements through pricing actions, portfolio management and business pruning, VAVE, and Resourcing.
• Develop key leaders and build organizational capability for Eaton through assessment, selection and succession planning within the product line.
• Foster an environment which promotes Eaton's goals, values and philosophy, encourages continuous improvement and builds customer relationships.
Required Qualifications:
• 15+ years of experience, with global operations, engineering and leadership preferred. Marketing and program management experience would be very beneficial.
• Strong background in goal deployment, strategic planning and building organizational capability.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a global cross-functional team in the development and implementation of product strategies.
• A focused, intelligent individual who is a pragmatic motivator with a good decision making skills.
• A demonstrated ability to lead across a multi-divisional large-scale global business.
• Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.

Education:
• An undergraduate degree is required. A Master's degree is preferred.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $158249.97 - $232099.96 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
