As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of complex ride control systems, ensuring safety, reliability, and innovation in every project. You will mentor junior engineers, manage technical teams, and drive projects from concept through completion, all while maintaining a strong focus on guest experience and safety.

This is a Full-Time role based in Anaheim, CA, reporting to the Senior Manager of Ride Control.

  • Lead the full lifecycle of control system projects: scope, design, installation, testing, and training.

  • Develop and review Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) software and hardware designs.

  • Conduct hazard analyses (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis [FMEA], fault tree) and root cause investigations.

  • Guide and mentor engineers and technical staff during field testing and commissioning.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define technical direction.

  • Lead design reviews and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

  • Manage multiple projects, reporting on scope, schedule, budget, and risks.

  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial control systems design and support.

  • Proven leadership in managing technical teams and complex projects.

  • Deep knowledge of Safety PLCs, fail-safe design, and safety-rated systems.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Experience in theme park or similar high-reliability environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of NEC, UL 508A, and facility electrical design.

  • California PE license or willingness to obtain.

  • Familiarity with Agile project management and adaptive life cycles.

  • Experience with scripting (C, C#, VB, JS) and data analytics.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program.

  • Preferred: Master’s degree in a technical field or MBA.

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $126,100.00 to $154,100.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, depending on the level and position offered.
