Job Duties and Responsibilities

SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Manager II is responsible for overseeing all the manufacturing activities taking place at the facility, continuously improving efficiencies and processes, and acting as the interface between the supervisors and the upper management team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
    • Manage multiple managers and/or supervisors and is fully responsible for the processing and auditing of department's efficiencies at the expected level of productivity and quality identified for one or more areas within the department
    • Responsibilities include resolving escalated process issues with manager/supervisors, process changes, and reporting to Senior Level management as needed
  • Responsible for managing and directing the day to day operations of a Manufacturing and Warehouse operation
  • Provide overall direction of lower level managers/supervisors in support of departmental objectives
  • Create standard work procedures, prepares work schedules, and optimize workflow
  • Inspire a highly-engaged culture based on treating all employees with dignity and respect
  • Collaborate with department managers in knowledge sharing, problem solving, and providing positive leadership within assigned functional areas
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing engineering and failure analysis teams on refining processes for new product introduction and identification of early failure trends in new products
  • Develop and manage quality assurance and cycle count program(s) designed to ensure continuous process improvement
  • Assign and oversee projects dedicated to auditing and assess processes and procedures to ensure effectiveness
  • Determine performance measurement systems to enhance objectivity and the integrity of performance data and evaluations
  • Develop and implement ongoing training programs to support the launch of new products and processes
  • Recommend new and/or enhancements to existing processes and procedures
  • Develop and maintain shipping procedures and efficiencies, inventory maintenance and accuracy, receiving and order shipments
  • Provide accurate and sufficient data for the evaluation of production efficiencies, return authorization procedures, and determining trends
  • Provide direct interface to all other departments of the corporation's group of companies regarding any operational issues
  • Responsible for high levels of employee engagement, operational performance, safety compliance, quality compliance, shift efficiencies, and collaboration with other departments

Skills, Experience and Requirements

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of a manufacturing shift/group. Also, directly supervises supervisory and non-supervisory employees involving staffing, conducting performance appraisals, training coaching and developing subordinates, promotions, salary increases, termination, and disciplinary action.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    • Bachelor's degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • A minimum of five years of leadership experience in operations management in a medium-to-high volume manufacturing/warehouse environment


SKILLS
    • Ability to effectively respond to and interact with all levels of manufacturing staff
    • Competencies include excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
    • Flexible, innovative and the ability to manage staff, responsibilities and priorities in a fast paced, growth-oriented and time-critical environment
    • Proven ability to develop team members professionally and instill a high-quality culture
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate supervisors and managers to obtain results through others
    • Proven ability to develop team members professionally and instill a high-quality culture
    • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities using effective problem solving/resolution skills and a team focus
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office - Excel, Word and Outlook
    • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations


REASONING ABILITY
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
    • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical and non-technical instructions

Compensation: $100,000.00/Year - $120,850.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
