Job Description:

Summary

The Senior Manager of User Experience (UX) will be responsible for the consistency of brand experience across all digital touchpoints while creating efficiencies in execution through a best in class, modern component library and processes to support and maintain it. This person will lead the continuous creation of the design assets & journey maps which will showcase experience improvements and help with the creation of a research and financially backed roadmap. The Senior Manager of User Experience (UX) will lead a team of experience strategists as they interpret data to derive insights, champion user research, lead and document the experience journey mapping to create and enhance the Discover customer financial wellbeing. This person will build key cross functional relationships and ground their work in human centered design and HCI principles.

Responsible for implementing digital enhancements to enable goals across web, app, and messaging. Drives integration and automation of technology solutions. Develops product road-maps, gathers resources and stakeholder alignment, and leads teams to implement and enhance platforms. Develops and coaches teams to be able to identify, manage, and escalate risk, and effectively manages risk within the teams you oversee.

Champions a culture of effective risk management, accountability, and demonstration of risk awareness across the organization.

Champions a customer-led, research and data backed human centered experience.

Fosters an entrepreneurial spirit and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

Identifies, evaluates, and develops digital enterprise platform strategies and roadmaps

Leads a team of experience design managers and strategists. Provides mentorship, coaching and continuous feedback for team skills progression and career advancement. Mentor, motivate and inspire junior team members. Partner with product owner, product designer and business stakeholders to define customer journey and deliver experience requirements to meet business goals.

Leads the prioritization and implementation of digital platform enhancements and migrations

Identifies and responds to industry and digital marketing trends and technologies

Champions a Human Centered Design, user experience, user research, usability, design thinking, and a Mobile first mindset across the enterprise. Proactively identify iterative user experience enhancements by staying on top of the latest design trends. Lead the creation research backed, financially sound design assets & journey maps to prioritize enhancements with product teams. Actively work to enhance the artifacts.

Ability to present, communicate and create compelling story to articulate the "why" behind design decisions to executive leadership. Excel in creating cross functional relationships across product design, design operations, legal, product, engineering and digital. Interpret data and insights from Voice of the Customer team and partner with research team on continued enhancement of user experience.

Continue advancement of skills for design expertise and leadership. Keep abreast of new tools and technology for team skills advancement. Working knowledge of Digital Accessibility and Design Systems.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here's what we need from you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration and Management, Communications, Information Technology
  • 6+ years of experience in Marketing, Business, Communications, or Technology or related experience
  • In lieu of education, must have 15+ Marketing, Business, Communications or Technology or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

If we had our say, we'd also look for:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration and Management, Marketing, Communications, Information Technology
  • 8+ years of experience Digital design and development, customer experience, and/or customer research, or related; must have led teams in design delivery of large-scale public facing web sites and apps; experience in creation of design languages/pattern libraries.

Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $103,000.00 to $174,200.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
