Diageo UDV Kenya, Mainstream Business has been growing year on year cementing its critical contribution on KBL P&L and overall share growth. We are looking for a Shopper Manager who is ready to support and deliver Mainstream plans at pace and scale that are connected to the business strategy and generate steady growth for the company.
Purpose of the Role
The Shopper Manager creates a driven advantage for Diageo by collaborating, crafting and executing the brands' physical availability priorities with an Omni Channel approach.
This role is a Trade Marketing role and provides the critical commercial linkage, knowledge and support to the brand marketing teams to ensure brand standards, purpose, communications, and programs are commercially sound, impactful and are grounded in deep shopper, retailer and RTM (Route to Market) understanding.
Dimensions
The Shopper Manager role is the key arbiter of where and how and at what level our brands invest at the "moment of choice". Deciding, for example, that brand is to be prioritized within a channel or segment has major implications for that brand's long-term growth and be a grounded and built in a commercial way that moves our business forward.
Financial
The Shopper Manager - will have access to and stewardship of a portion of the Brands A&P & TI (Trade Investment) budget to support BTL Below the Line) agency and other 3rd party work. Execution of the planned BTL activities has a direct impact on the brand P&L and ultimately to the overall Business P&L.
Complexity
This role requires a deep understanding of category & channel segment data, shopper/consumer & trade insights, market trends and deep commercial knowledge. The role needs to lead and influence internal partners across executive, supply, marketing and sales functions to coordinate activity and consistency of outcomes.
Key Activities
- Leads all aspects of all commercial marketing BTL planning and delivery of programs for Trade Marketing commercialization
- Delivers "fewer, bigger, better" brand activations that truly impact the brand performance to grow share and deliver financial and consumer imperatives
- Collaborates with brand, wider Trade marketing and sales-field marketing organization to deliver brand BTL execution.
- Provides critical input to commercial (BPM) and brand reviews (QBP's) and Brand Board Sessions - leading commercial course correction were vital.

Experience
- Strong customer marketing (sales capabilities/ trade marketing/ Key Accounts) (> 3 years)
- Great performance track record and strong customer relationships
- High level of understanding and experience of customer & Consumer engagement and project management (Plan-Execute & Measure)

- Seeking highly motivated and action-oriented candidate to work on the dynamic and fast-paced Customer Marketing team. This individual will collaborate with Brand Managers across major spirits brands to bring to life an array of exciting opportunities.
- The type of person we are looking for must have a real balance of urgency, entrepreneurial drive, and analytic skill. The ideal candidate has a curiosity about consumers and the competitive landscape and an interest in creative and design.
- They must be able to work across the organization and have the ability to get great results quickly from a cross-functional team made up of sales team, Finance, CPM, Brand, Legal and Supply teams.
- Needs to lead and bring commercial expertise into the Customer marketing team. Using strong experience in the industry, plus strong customer insight, challenge and challenge status quo to drive excellent results and bold execution.
