About the role

Purpose: Driving commercial growth and market share within the Eastern European on-trade channel through strategic development and effective execution.

Experience: 4-6 years commercial experience in on-trade channel management, proven track record of developing and executing successful commercial strategies and plans, cross functional experience in Activations, Marketing, commercial strategy is a plus.

Role Responsibilities

Strategic foresight and responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of the overall commercial strategy, providing channel-specific insights and recommendations
  • Develop a deep understanding of local customer needs, strategies, and dynamics within the on-trade channel and builds commercial plans accordingly.
  • Working closely with distributor partners' on-trade teams who execute marketing, sales, and distribution in line with regional strategies.
  • Ensure efficient and profitable commercialization and implementation of marketing strategies in line with portfolio and country prioritization
  • Supports the Spirit commercial team to understand and improve the on-trade channel P&L.
  • Identifies short and mid term growth opportunities in the on-trade channel, engages internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor and track the performance of commercial activities, analyze results, and identify areas for improvement. Leads the M&E cycle of on-trade projects

  • Creates efficient templates and WoW for partners for external data collection and insight generation
  • Proficiency in analyzing large, complex datasets to identify revenue opportunities and risks.

  • Builds and holds collaborative relationship with the on-trade managers of the assigned countries.
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization with multiple partners and support functions.
  • Influencing and engaging skills for internal and external stakeholders
  • Implement smooth and simple ways of working with the Distributor as well as with internal functions to ensure the fastest decision making and execution

  • Influences distributor partners by Triple Win Propositions using growth insight and foresight driven by data.
  • Can identify and recommend where and how additional value can be crafted for both the Partner, consumers and Diageo.
  • Builds strong network to understand customer needs, consumer habits and competitor best practices.

Execution Excellence
  • Develops guideline on on-trade strategy execution priorities
  • Supporting change initiatives with the team or the distributors and leverages standard processes across countries
  • Effective prioritization of short and long-term performance goals in planning, execution and evaluation

Success criteria:
  • Supporting the commercial team to deliver on-trade depletion, NSV and market share growth as per AOP
  • Leads the implementation of Project Welcome (segmentation and activation in line with project phasing)
  • Leads the implementation of on-trade channel M&E
