As a Material Planner, you'll play a crucial role in our Supply Chain team, ensuring the seamless availability of components for your assigned category. You'll work closely with Planning, Operations, Procurement, Suppliers, and Brand Change teams to optimise our end-to-end inventory, including safety stocks, and deliver exceptional service.

What you'll do:

  • Ensure material availability in line with forecasts by optimising end-to-end inventory, including safety stocks.


  • Provide clear visibility of material requirements to Suppliers and Procurement across operational and tactical planning horizons.


  • Proactively manage Dry Goods requirements, inventory levels, and service to both markets and from suppliers.


  • Deliver on a balanced suite of Material Planning KPIs.


Your impact will be measured by:

  • Business-focused objectives (Net Sales Value, Gross Margin, Volume)


  • Customer Fill Rate (CFR) for your category


  • Inventory (cash)


  • Capacity to Demand ratio adherence for materials


  • Seamless innovation transitions with no out-of-stock


  • Cost savings and control (SLOBS, Scrap, airfreight)


  • Material 'Stock to Norm' (within operating windows), Reaction Time, Cycle Time, and supplier reliability


Ultimately, your efforts will directly contribute to maximising Diageo's volume, profit, and customer service across all our markets and supply centers.

Key skills and experience required

  • End-to-End Supply Chain Management: Demonstrated expertise in leading and optimising complex supply chain operations from raw materials to final product.


  • Strategic Planning & Analytics: Proven ability to develop and implement long-term material capacity plans, analyse replenishment requirements, identify exceptions, and generate effective risk mitigation strategies.


  • Supplier Relationship & Procurement Collaboration: Experience in working closely with suppliers and procurement teams and drive collaborative solutions.


  • Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement: Track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives, driving digitisation, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains, and leading cross-functional teams to embed best practices.


  • Risk Management & Issue Resolution: Strong capability in proactively identifying potential business issues (quality incidents, disruptions, BCP activation) and leading/driving their resolution across the E2E supply chain.
