About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate professional to shape Diageo's supply chain through management of our energy providers and acceleration of our Capex agenda. This pivotal role offers significant exposure to senior leaders across all of Diageo's drinks categories - including Scotch, Europe Spirits, Beer and Baileys - providing a unique platform for career progression and impact.

As a Manufacturing Services Specialist, you'll play a key role in driving strategic sourcing for decarbonisation, helping to deliver long-term value and build a more resilient supply chain by managing our energy sources. You'll also lead sourcing for Capex and MRO, working closely with engineering teams to identify the right suppliers to support and enhance our site infrastructure.

You'll lead change in Supply Categories - whether driving capacity expansion projects or supporting sustainability on our net zero journey. As a Manufacturing Services Procurement Specialist, you'll partner on these projects to deliver value and reduce risk through supplier agreements.

Key responsibilities will include:

Strategic Sourcing & Category Leadership:

  • Develop and deliver forward-looking procurement strategies for the Manufacturing Services category.


  • Identify and drive opportunities for cost savings and productivity across Diageo sites.


  • Lead end-to-end energy sourcing, including market analysis, supplier strategy, negotiation, and contract management.


Decarbonisation Roadmap Execution:

  • Drive the implementation of the decarbonisation roadmap by actively providing and sourcing primary fuel options and low/zero carbon alternatives (e.g., biomethane, biofuel, biomass, hydrogen, electrification).


  • Lead the sourcing of new technologies that allow the use of alternative fuels types, moving us away from fossil fuels.


Cross-Functional & Senior Stakeholder Partnering:

  • Build strong, influential relationships across Planning, Sustainability, Finance, Manufacturing, Legal across all spirit categories.


  • Integrate Procurement initiatives into the business to ensure effective execution and prioritisation.


  • Navigate complex stakeholder dynamics and secure agreement for strategic initiatives, including presenting to senior management.


Commercial & Financial Foresight:

  • Apply advanced analytics and cost modelling to shape strategies and secure strong commercial outcomes.


  • Lead negotiations within a regulated environment, delivering value while building strong external partnerships.


  • Maintain strong financial and TCO awareness to drive end-to-end value.


Supplier & Risk Management:

  • Develop resilient supply chains by proactively reviewing and leading critical contracts to prevent expiry, ensuring security of supply.


  • Hold suppliers accountable for delivering on commitments, fostering innovation, and driving continuous improvement in their service and sustainability offerings.


Project Support & Process Optimisation:

  • Support sophisticated infrastructure projects, working closely with project leads to ensure successful delivery.


  • Optimise procurement processes using data insights from tools like PowerBI and the Kearney Chessboard.

  • Operational Awareness - Understanding of manufacturing, engineering, or operations (such as distilling, brewing, or packaging), particularly in relation to energy usage and operational needs.


  • Stakeholder Engagement - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.


  • Project Collaboration - Shown ability to support and contribute to cross-functional projects, aligning with wider Procurement and business strategies.
