The HR Coordinator - AGRICULTURE, Tequila Category brings to life the HR strategies and initiatives across the Agriculture Zone they support. The role drives the people and culture agenda through the Zone´s leadership and holds the tension on the agreed metrics. The role provides inputs from pulse on the ground to help the HRBP shape interventions.

About the Role:
- We have an outstanding collection of world-leading tequila brands in our portfolio. Carefully crafted in Mexico from Agave Weber Blue Variety and enjoyed by consumers worldwide. Tequila is our third largest area of business globally, preceded by Scotch and beer. The popularity of tequila is on the rise among consumers, representing a great opportunity to drive growth. In F25 first half, our tequila net sales grew 21%, driven by Don Julio and Casamigos in North America. Today Don Julio is sold in over 50 countries and Casamigos in over 30 countries.
- Our Agriculture operations span across Jalisco and bordering states (Jalisco, Queretaro, Tepic, Michoacan), and encompass expertise in agave production, management and partnerships with third-party operators to ensure quality, sustainability and ethical sourcing. This is unique for Diageo as it is the only backward integrated category to secure unconstrained supply of Agave (the main raw material). Today Diageo´s own Agave operations cater to approx. 24% of the overall Agave requirement. The ambition is to further secure Agave supply to avoid any disruptions in a volatile Agave market.
- The role supports employee base of approx. 250 employees in a Agriculture Zone spread across Jalisco, Michoacan, Tepic and Guanajuato. Agriculture workforce is unionized, with approx. 35% attrition and come from a less organized industry.
- The HRC - Agriculture will play a pivotal role in driving people and culture strategies which propels the category to success through activities including:
- Partner with the Zone Agriculture leadership team to implement talent, organization efficiency, culture, reward and employee relations plans.
- Is the face of HR to the last level employee in the Agri fields. Works closely with employees to develop a self-service mentality and capability to increase utilization of My Hub for HR queries.
- Provides first level support to supervisors to answer HR queries. Focuses on developing ER muscle and enhance utilization of My Hub / COE's / Digital people analytics dashboards.
- Keeps tab of pulse of employee and provides feedback to HRBP / Functional leadership / ER on what is on top of their mind.
- Runs inputs going to payroll for all weekly / monthly payments and works closely with the HRBP in the automation agenda by being the change agent on the ground.
- Champion our Inclusion and Diversity agenda tailored to Agriculture and supports specific interventions.
Enable Dial Up behaviours and drive culture of speed and agility within Agriculture
- The role deals with Employee Relations matters such as individual end-to-end ER case management (e.g. Disciplinaries, grievances, ill health retirement, long term absence etc).
- Collaborate with union delegates to ensure proper execution and alignment with Diageo's strategic objectives
- The role requires travel to the fields for at least 3 days in a week
- Act as an agent of change in organizational initiatives, ensuring clear and effective communication during transformation processes.
Qualifications & Experience required
Specify the qualifications, skills and experience required for someone to successfully perform this role. Include any certifications, education or technical competencies if relevant.
- Bachelor's or master's Degree or equivalent experience and/or qualified in Personnel Management & Industrial Relations or equivalent.
- Working knowledge in application of Ley Federal Del Trabajo / IMMS / Other Labour & Employment laws in Mexico.
- At least 3 years HR Experience providing HR support to front line supervisors and unionized employees.
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship management and communication skills and ability to apply at all levels within the organisation to solve complex HR / ER problems.
- Customer service approach to understand on the ground issues and work with the HR leadership to provide workable solutions.
- Thrives in an environment dealing with ambiguity, complexity and working within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and matrixed environment.
- English is a plus.
