The Senior Manager, Insights Solutions is a pivotal role in advancing the department's priorities and objectives through the use of advanced analytics to solve our most important business challenges. The role will lead and manage a team of data scientists, develop data science strategies, and work with business leaders to translate data insights into actionable solutions. They are responsible for the end-to-end execution of data initiatives, quality and solution design, and implementation using appropriate tools and techniques. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in data science and machine learning, and the ability to communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. This role works closely with business leaders in determining how and what efforts to prioritize by finding insights through the use of data and advanced analytics. This role also creates insights to measure and predict the value and outcomes of data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities:
- Manages, hires, and maintains a team of data analysts and data scientists to deliver the team's objectives using advanced analytics and artificial intelligence to generate insights for business partners to meet their priorities.
- Standardizes best practices and standards for analysis, modeling and experimentation; develop scalable processes to help the team solve pain points and meet goals; adhere to enterprise data policies.
- Matches the needs of internal customer groups, including Customer Operations leadership, product teams, and business and operations teams, with relevant and actionable data solutions.
- Establishes the roadmap for your team and implements projects in data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced analytics to achieve business objectives.
- Collaborates with stakeholders, both business and data engineering, to prioritize quarterly and annual roadmap in Agile aligned to business objectives.
- Ensures our internal analytics products effectively meet the business needs of our internal customers, including power users and business stakeholders.
- Evangelizes the value of data/analytics and helps drive a data-informed culture to make our data intelligible and important to the rest of the company.
- Facilitates cross-functional working groups to solicit input and feedback.
- Identifies, implements, and operationalizes processes to maximize product adoption.
- Designs communication structure and cadence with team members; synthesizes data learnings into compelling stories and communicates them throughout the enterprise.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in advanced analytics, data science, machine learning, and/or product management required; ten or more years of experience as a data professional preferred.
- Five of more years of working and leading teams in Agile.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Proven analytics skills, including data science, machine learning, data engineering, and visualization.
- Technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, and presentations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to see/understand the big picture.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Strong presentation skills, comfortable presenting to all management levels.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Solid business acumen, ability to think strategically and build effective business partnerships.
- Knowledge of data integration across multiple data sources.
- Ability to communicate complex issues/systems to users and/or stakeholders in concise and simple language.
- Expertise with BI/analytics tools such as BusinessObjects, Tableau, and Power BI.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Proven technical experience in using artificial intelligence to meet important business objective.
Licenses
• Certified Data Professional. Appropriate certification in a data field specialty within 1 year preferred.
Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 24. $122,400 - $265,100
