Individual Business Sales Representative

Are you passionate about helping others and skilled at turning conversations into solutions? We're looking for a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as an Individual Dental Insurance Sales Representative. In this role, you'll handle inbound calls from prospective customers, assess their needs, recommend tailored dental plan options, and guide them through the enrollment and payment process. You'll play a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction and retention while driving successful enrollments.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer inbound calls from individuals interested in purchasing dental insurance.
  • Engage with prospective customers to understand their needs and recommend the most suitable dental plan.
  • Clearly explain plan benefits, features, and pricing in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Overcome objections to successfully close sales and complete enrollments.
  • Guide customers through payment options and ensure accurate setup of their plans.
  • Respond to electronic and written inquiries from leads and prospective customers.
  • Verify eligibility for specific programs when applicable.
  • Document customer interactions and outcomes in the tracking system.
  • Redirect complex inquiries (e.g., billing, enrollment issues) to the appropriate department.
  • Maintain performance standards, including call quality and sales goals.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of experience in customer service, retail, or sales.
  • Additional relevant experience may be considered in place of formal education.

Preferred Experience
  • Active insurance sales license (e.g., Health, Accident, or Sickness), per state DOI regulations.
  • Experience in a call center, sales, or dental-related field.

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong sales and closing skills with a customer-first mindset.
  • Ability to manage high call volumes and follow structured workflows.
  • Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills.
  • Quick learner with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Adherence to schedule and service-level expectations.

Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications, and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 14. $36,900 - $74,600
