Competitive Intelligence Analyst

The Competitive Intelligence Analyst is responsible for serving as a key member of the Market Insights team supporting our enterprise's advancement and growth. The position will collaborate across the enterprise with team members and stakeholders to collect, research, analyze, and share competitive market insights to drive key business decisions and outcomes including product positioning, marketing strategy, and go-to-market strategy.

Responsibilities:

Collaborates across business functions such as segment strategy, product strategy, marketing, data analytics, underwriting, actuarial, and sales teams to collect and analyze competitive intelligence.

Gathers, analyzes, and synthesizes information about the health insurance market, focusing on both existing and emerging competitive landscapes.

Influences strategy, tactics, and product strategy with competitive intelligence and analyses to drive growth and sales decision making.

Supports briefing of internal teams on a quarterly basis on new competitor offerings, competitive messaging, and positioning issues.

Supports development of up-to-date tools (such as FAQs, battle cards, SWOT analysis, playbooks, internal and external presentations) with a view toward improving sales and marketing effectiveness.

Supports Market Insights team by maintaining competitive intelligence knowledgebase.

Collaborates with analytics, customer insights, and market research teams to understand the impact of competitor go-to-market strategies on Delta Dental's Growth strategy.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years experience in a competitive intelligence, sales, or marketing role including project management, product management, and analysis of competitive intelligence plus a bachelor's degree.
• Experience in dental or health insurance is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to comprehend complex industry business models, extensive data findings and competitor strategies and being able to translate information to meet varying audience (internal and externals) needs.
• Detailed oriented, but able to see the big picture too.
• Strong organizational, time and project management abilities.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to use MS Office applications to prepare reports, import data into spreadsheets, and manipulate data to enable analysis.
• Strong visual (i.e. PowerPoint), written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proven sensitivity towards confidentiality and understanding of requirements and policies that impact legal and ethical conduct in regards to competitive intelligence practices.

Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 18. $56,900 - $119,200
