Position Summary

Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in Seattle, Washington.

Work You'll Do
Assist clients to manage state tax liability and such challenges as states with unique tax laws, the enforcement focus of state departments of revenue, the growing number of audits, and increased merger and acquisition activity. Provide services relating to business restructuring, credits and incentives, sales and use tax, sales and use tax outsourcing, state income and franchise tax, state strategic tax review, and state tax controversy. Provide compliance and consulting services to corporate and individual clients. Identify complex tax issues and provide tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Assist with overseeing complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries as well as research and analyze a wide range of tax issues, such as deferred tax liability issues and tax implications of financing techniques, for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Assume tax-planning responsibilities for corporate and individual clients. Will commute within the Seattle, Washington area to consult with clients concerning the above job duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business Administration, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent)
  • Eighteen (18) months of experience as a Tax Senior or related occupation gaining experience applying state and local tax rules to corporate and partnership clients.
  • Position requires eighteen (18) months of experience in the following:
  • preparing tax returns, estimates, extensions, and provisions for corporations and partnerships in multistate jurisdictions;
  • preparing state tax returns and amendments for Partnerships, LLCs, SCorporations, CCorporations;
  • preparing and filing withholding and composite returns for partnerships and limited liability companies in multistate jurisdiction;
  • preparing state income and franchise tax returns for corporations and partnerships based on varying state regulations for the apportionment of income and nexus creating activities;
  • analyzing conflicting state laws across multiple state jurisdictions and applying such analysis to corporate and partnership clients, including state audit provisions, multi-state corporate conversions, and tax restructuring issues;
  • performing state taxation services, including state apportionments, modifications, and state and local credits calculations, based on varying state regulations;
  • assisting with resolving state tax matters with Department of Revenue (DOR) representatives in multiple state tax jurisdictions mediating between clients and state revenue departments to resolve state tax notices, audits, and other tax-related issues and inquiries;
  • utilizing tax software, including GoSystem and Corptax, to prepare state and local income tax returns in multistate jurisdictions;
  • interacting directly with senior management of the engagement team and clients to track engagement deliverables, discuss issue resolution and continuity and ensure timely delivery of project work;
  • mentoring and coaching junior team members.
  • Less than 10% domestic travel required outside of normal commuting distance.

Hours: M-F, 40 hours/week;
Annual Salary: $77,700.00 - $144,300.00
