Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Work You'll Do
Review complex tax compliance processes, coordinate global information reporting projects, including FACTA and CRS compliance, and conduct research on global tax regulations and their impact on clients' reporting requirements to ensure accuracy and adherence to regulations. Prepare and file tax returns for corporations and partnerships, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. Archive organized files and documentation for tax returns and client correspondence. Develop and maintain client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for tax compliance and reporting matters. Review and approve tax returns prepared by junior staff, providing feedback and guidance, and providing training on tax compliance, global information reporting requirements, and reporting projects. Review and reconcile information related to tax filings and reports to ensure accuracy. Develop and implement technology solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy in tax processes and utilize Alteryx and other technology tools to streamline tax compliance and reporting processes. Attend internal strategy meetings with senior managers and clients, assist in the development of strategies, and assist with email communications to clients. Will commute within the Jersey City, NJ area to consult with clients concerning the above job duties.

Requirements
Bachelor's (or higher) degree in accounting, finance, business administration, law, or related field (willing to accept foreign educational equivalent) plus eighteen months of experience as a Tax Senior or related occupation gaining experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and tax returns. Experience must include eighteen months of:
1. performing withholding tax computations and preparing and filing federal Forms 1042, 1042-S, 1099, 8804, and 8805 under IRS IRC 1441-1443, IRS IRC 1446, 6041, and IRS Regs. 1.1471-1.1474
2. validating tax forms W-9, W-8BEN, W-8BEN-E, W-8EXP, W-8IMY, W8ECI, and CRS certification forms
3. performing entity classification, registration, and reporting on foreign jurisdictional portals
4. utilizing tax software, including 1099-Pro, to provide tax compliance service
5. performing detailed technical review and form validation of W-services self-certifications and related sub-documentation
6. providing consulting services on FATCA and CRS for clients across various jurisdictions and assisting clients with FATCA and CRS reporting
7. reviewing transaction information and analyzing source and character of the payments to determine if income payee received would be considered fixed, determinable, annual, periodical ("FDAP") or effectively connected with U.S. trade or business ("ECI")
8. researching U.S. tax treaties to determine tax withholding rate basing on payee status and payment information; and providing tax compliance services relating to Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR) on FinCEN Form 114
9. preparing deliverables using Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Project Manager and Visio to fully support clients with their strategic metrics exercises to mitigate the tax risk and drive overall operational efficiency to tax reporting processes

Annual Salary: $105,019.00 - $144,300.00
