Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Manager in McLean, Virginia.
Work You'll Do
Responsible for providing tax research and analyses for clients in diverse industries. Oversee day-to-day client service relationships and provide tax services to help improve compliance and maintain clients overall tax risk profile. Work closely with clients and provide managerial support to members of the Deloitte Tax team in order to understand each organization's global goals and strategies and analyze how industry and economic trends affect the business. Responsible for keeping up-to-date on current tax practices and technical issues, analyzing the client's business and tax systems, clearing open items relating to assigned areas, and meeting client deadlines. Oversee the delivery of tax planning services, including preparation of tax work papers, tax returns and extensions, estimates, and tax provisions. Coordinate data gathering with various functions, gather data electronically and at the appropriate level of detail, and review data for completeness. Integrate data collection, review client financials, calculate preliminary taxable income and various tax return items, and review and sign off on tentative taxable income. Advise clients on U.S. federal income tax matters relating to the formation of investments funds, including hedge and private equity funds, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, debt and equity financing, debt restructurings, tax controversies, administrative practice, REITs, RICs, tax exempt entities and executive compensation. Will commute within the McLean, VA area to consultant with clients concerning the above job duties.

Requirements
Master's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus three years of experience as a Tax Manager or related occupation gaining experience preparing federal and state/local income tax returns for partnerships and corporations.
Experience must include three years of:
- providing tax planning services or preparing client work papers and income tax returns;
- utilizing tax software, including GoSystem and SuperForms, to prepare and review complex U.S. and multi-state income tax returns for business entities, including partnerships and S-corporations;
- utilizing tax research resources, including CCH, to respond to federal and multistate tax notices for Partnerships and REITs;
- applying Subchapter K and identifying technical issues; applying tax compliance calculations to the preparation of returns for private companies, including C-corporations and partnerships;
- completing workpapers, including Schedule K-1 and income allocation schedules; converting book balance sheets to taxable tax basis balance sheets;
- analyzing complex tax allocation among real estate funds and analyzing partnership agreements in connection with allocations;
- representing client interests with state revenue departments to resolve multistate tax controversy matters relating to state assessments, notices, and audits;
- facilitating the development of onshore and offshore international compliance teams and tracking and monitoring client deliverables and due dates including tax returns, extensions, tax planning calculations, and write-up work for corporations, partnerships, and REITs.
Less than 10% domestic travel outside normal commuting distance.

Annual Salary: $123,989.00 - $193,440.00
