Position Summary
The team
The Quality and Risk Management (QRM) team's mission is to protect the earnings, assets, and reputation of the firm, facilitate consistency of delivery, and reduce the cost of quality. The primary responsibility of QRM is to provide effective and timely risk and quality-related counsel and guidance to the Deloitte teams that support client engagements. QRM accomplishes its mission by helping identify, mitigate, and manage risk (delivery, regulatory, legal, and reputation) throughout the engagement life cycle.
The Operate Obligations Management team will provide support to US Risk Managers and business leaders for complex information technology (IT) operate and managed services contracts by executing careful review of contractual documents (and related artifacts) and extracting all obligations and restrictions that require customized operationalization and management by the business stakeholders. This includes translating contractual/legal language into clear, actionable insights for business stakeholders.

Work you'll do
Provide Obligations Management as follows:
- Review and analyze IT operations and managed services contracts to identify and document business-relevant contractual obligations and restrictions, including :
- Contract requirements, deliverables and key methodologies such as performance measures, productivity achievement and invoicing
- Security/privacy obligations that must be operationalized outside of standard processes and controls
- Non-standard onboarding requirements
- Summarize and re-state individual contract obligations in non-legal terminology that can be clearly understood and actioned by business delivery leaders
- Collaborate and build relationships with legal, delivery, and commercial teams to clarify, interpret and align on actions to be recommended to business leaders to comply with contractual obligations
- Leverage customized tools/platforms for obligations tracking
- Support the development of tools, templates and methodologies for standardized obligation extraction, documentation and communication
- Flag risks, ambiguities or gaps in contract terms that could impact delivery or compliance
- Periodically interface with internal stakeholders to help monitor progress of contractual obligations and restrictions

- Manage process implementation activities, including identification of process improvement opportunities for obligations management activities
- Conduct obligations management related knowledge sharing sessions for team members
- Serve as mentor to junior team members, providing oversight, guidance and knowledge sharing, as required
- Other ad hoc risk and contract management support activities as required
Qualifications
Required:
- Possess 10+ years of post-qualification experience in contract management, contract analysis, compliance, legal operations, or a similar role
- Strong understanding of IT operations, managed services, or consulting delivery models
- Excellent contractual fluency and ability to interpret and translate legal language into simplified terms
- Experience in identifying commercial, contractual and business obligations within complex legal documents
- Excellent analytical and presentation skills
- Good relationship management skills
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Proactive approach in performing duties, problem solving, and issue resolution
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office - Word, Basic Excel and PowerPoint
- Exposure to contract language associated with complex IT services contracting
- Education: BBA/BA/BS in related field
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
Preferred:
- Advanced degree (e.g. law or business)
- Familiarity with contract lifecycle management systems

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $124,700 - $229,500.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
