Responsibilities
- Research, analysis and communication of legal facts and concepts
- Legal research of state and federal laws, regulations, and policies
- Review of clinical training and communications ("collateral")
- Own processes and project management (e.g. finding innovative ways to communicate progress across teams, working to improve workflows, etc.)
- Manage clinical collateral review process and execution
- Drafting and/or contributing to policies, procedures, and operational guardrails with an eye towards translating legalese for non-legal teammates
- Daily communication and interaction with legal and operations teammates, compliance department, IT teammates, clinical teammates and external parties relating to assigned areas
- Preparation, review, and revision of complex legal documents as directed by attorneys
- Assistance on special projects

- Demonstrated analytical/critical thinking skills; ability to understand, summarize, and communicate complex legal matters for legal and non-legal audiences
- Interest in or experience with translating clinical, IT, and/or legal jargon into "regular" speak
- Can-do attitude, and a drive to take on new responsibilities with the support of a tightknit team.
- Excellent organizational, attention to detail, and follow-through skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adjust priorities appropriately in an evolving work environment with shifting time frames
- Be interested in "being one step ahead" and staying on top of innovations and insights that impact the intersection of healthcare law and technology
- Self-directed; able to work independently and as a member of a team, and to foster a positive work environment
- Working knowledge of fraud, waste and abuse laws (anti-kickback statute, false claims act) helpful but not required
- Excellent problem-solving skills/desire to innovate

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required
- Associate's degree or Certificate in Paralegal Studies highly preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years' administrative or paralegal experience preferred
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Law firm experience preferred
