CVS Health is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Network Engineer (Staff Network Engineer) of Retail Network Engineering, as part of the Network Engineering and Design organization. The Retail Network Engineering is a key member of our technology team, responsible for overseeing the design, deployment, and maintenance of network infrastructure primarily within our retail locations, however, skills and talent will transcend to the greater enterprise.

As the Senior Network Engineer, you will have the responsibility of executing strategic initiatives, supervising all LAN and WAN connectivity inside the stores inclusive of wireless technologies. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and mentoring skills, technical expertise in network engineering, and a deep understanding of retail environments and their unique networking requirements. Travel to various business locations will be required for this position.Required Qualifications:

  • 7+years of enterprise networkengineering implementationanddesignexperience
  • 5+ years of vendor management experience
  • 5+ years of experience working with enterprise systems platforms such as compute, storage, data centers and automation
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands onexperiencedeployingvarious tool sets which support monitoring and alerting across diverse platforms - has integration experience working with event correlation platforms and ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
  • Experience with advanced network engineering solutions utilizing various product platforms such as Cisco, Fortinet, F5, CheckPoint, Palo Alto, zScaler, NetBrain, ThousandEyes and NetScout
  • Experience designing connectivity to public cloud services providers specifically AWS, Azure and GCP
  • Fluent in all aspect of network security and security elements - designs networks with proper controls and governance from conception to execution
  • Advanced Cisco training and certifications highly desirable
Additional responsibilities:
  • The Staff Network Engineer will operate at the enterprise level responsible for executing a wholisticstrategy and tactical plan of implementation, as well as operationalizing investments which ultimately result in a resilient network architecture that is scalable to meet the growing business needs as well as lowered mean time to repair and time between incidents
  • Working across all business disciplines, this senior technical leader will ensure that requirements (both business and technical) and use cases are collected with requirements defined to meet expectations in the most efficient and economical way possible
  • Works on cross-infrastructure team with distinguished engineers and technical leads from other infrastructure teams (cloud, digital, applications) to establish technical strategies and architectural design/standards for network technology
  • Identifies and consults with internal and external technical resources to produce strategic engineering designs and provide innovative solutions
  • Conceptualizes, designs, validates, and tests complex network designs that support voice, and data technologies
  • Works closely with CVS leadership to ensure that their technology platform choices are well understood, the support services contracts comply with CVS' operational standards, proper thought leadership is represented in the negotiation of support services and that measured services are well defined
  • Designs and implements highly resilient and failure proof network solutions with the ability to withstand system failures, faulty code, and other infrastructure impairments - thinks with a global mindset and "never fail" mentality when implementing solutions
  • Designs virtual network services in support of business applications and communication platforms - experience designing for quality of service and micro-services across the network
  • Create a program to visualize the performance of the network, design to best practices and monitor for health and report on problem areas
  • Designs networks for automation and intelligence - embraces the opportunities for machine learning and other advanced intelligent platforms to drive outcomes
  • Works closely with the VP Network Engineering and Design, along with the Network Operations team to create capital and operational budgets that pertain to the equipment and services in use within the network infrastructure
  • Establishes testing strategy, standards and/or objectives in alignment with company enterprise IT objectives
  • Participates in internal and external groups, seeks out opportunity to address large groups of peers on technical issues; initiates presentations to the user community; initiates project or strategy discussions with internal and external groups; represents the team in external technical groups

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:$130,295.00 - $260,590.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.Our people fuel our future.
