Senior Eligibility Consultant (Meritain Health)

The Senior Eligibility Consultant is responsible for this department's most complex and highest valued clients, also working and resolving complex issues. This person will translate direction and intent into actionable items while operating with minimal supervision, while maintaining a consultative nature when working with other departments, clients, and brokers. The Senior Eligibility Consultant will coach and mentor junior staff, develop and execute training plans, coordinate and set daily objectives, identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies, serve as SME ( Subject Matter Expert ), and function as the highest level of escalation prior to manager and/or director involvement. This person also has a major role in the eligibility file process, which may include troubleshooting, error reports, and user acceptance testing.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working with eligibility, including a demonstrated proficiency in processing accurate and timely policy and eligibility data & files.
• Must reside in East Lansing, Michigan.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule, with 3 days per week spent in the East Lansing, MI office.

• Previous experience as a Senior Eligibility Consultant.
• Understands intent/end state and operates with minimal guidance to meet that intent/end state.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Team player, while maintaining the ability to operate independently as needed.
• Provides accurate and timely results.
• Delegates and follows up as needed.
• Coaches and mentors others.
