DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented On-site Health, Safety, and Environment Lead to join our team for our Accelera by Cummins Inc in Mississauga, Ont.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Promote a positive safety culture by actively demonstrating safety awareness and coaching others.
- Engage employees in developing and implementing health, safety, and environmental programs.
- Provide technical expertise to improve hazard prevention, risk control measures, and drive continual improvement.
- Support daily operations by solving complex technical issues related to health, safety, and environment.
- Lead hazard and risk assessments to identify improvement opportunities and compliance gaps.
- Drive the design and maintenance of hazard prevention and control systems to reduce potential risks.
- Develop and lead training and internal communications on hazard prevention and control.
- Evaluate and interpret data to develop improvement plans using a risk-based, data-driven approach.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems : Applying international standards to achieve and maintain an effective management system and external certification.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
College, university, or equivalent degree required. Health, Safety and/or Environmental degree preferred. Professional certification in HSE-related field preferred.
Experience:
Intermediate level of experience required, including experience in application of Industrial Safety standards and implementation of risk controls. Minimal management experience preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Solid understanding of Ontario Health and Safety Act and O.Reg. 851
- Familiar with Machine safety standards per CSA Z432 and Control of Hazardous Energy CSA Z460
- Understanding of Hydrogen safety would be an asset
- Experience with Ministry of Environment processes and protocols would be an asset
