DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Accountant to join our team, specialising in Finance for our Cummins Drivetrain & Braking Systems in Cwmbran, Wales, United Kingdom.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Ensure General Ledger Integrity: Maintain the accuracy and reliability of all financial records, crucial for informed decision-making and precise financial reporting.
  • Maintain and Review a Fixed Asset Register: Regularly update and verify the fixed asset register to ensure accurate tracking and valuation.
  • Coordinate Month-End Activities: Ensure financial statements are prepared promptly for timely analysis and reporting.
  • Implement Best Practices: Enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting processes, contributing to the department's overall effectiveness.
  • Audit Engagements: Coordinate SOX, internal, and external audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement in financial controls.
  • SOX/Audit Remediation Solutions: Address identified issues and strengthen financial controls by initiating, recommending, or providing remediation solutions.
  • Support External Auditors: Provide timely and accurate information to facilitate smooth audit processes and meet both group and statutory audit requirements.
  • Standardise Best Practices: Collaborate with European Accounting Staff to promote consistency and efficiency across all European sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Windows and essential software tools like Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Oracle.
  • Analytical and Project Management Skills: Ability to analyse data effectively and manage projects efficiently.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with different audiences.
  • Integrity and Work Ethic: High integrity, excellent work ethic, customer service orientation, and the ability to mentor and coach subordinates.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • Over 2 years of experience in a finance-related discipline, with demonstrated growth and progression within the field.
  • Possession of a professional accounting qualification, either part or fully qualified.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple balance sheets within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
