This position provides cloud architectural oversight of the organizations multi cloud infrastructure. This role will focus on the advancement of the cloud strategy, maturing the foundational cloud capabilities and providing a flexible platform for the business in collaboration with our managed service provider. Success in this role requires a technical and innovative mindset with a passion to explore and acquire knowledge of new and emerging technologies. You will drive the use of technology standards, cloud best practices and target state architectures across the enterprise.
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Ensure that cloud solutions follow governance, security, and compliance controls, as well as best practices
- Take lead role in maturing the Azure environment in line with the vendors best practices
- Responsible for continuously analysing and evaluating architectures against emerging technology trends
- Assist project teams to build, deploy, and support new services in our cloud environment
- Develop and drive solution architectures that will enable applications to have exceptional operational qualities such as high availability/performance, seamless integration and high quality/reliability.
- Be a trusted advisor for I&T Hosting Services, and for the project teams that are customers of I&T
- Work alongside the operations team to enhance the cloud capabilities offered to the business
- Define design principles for platform and applications to build cloud vendor (AWS, Azure) agnostic services.
- Be a trusted automation and tooling advisor for DevOps initiatives by providing objective, practical and relevant ideas, insights and advice.

Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in the IT field
- Pharmaceutical/Biotech or similarly regulated environment experience is preferred.
- Cloud certifications from the major cloud providers (AWS, Azure)
- 3-5 years of architectural experience on AWS (additional experience in Azure would be beneficial)
- Experience delivering complex enterprise wide cloud solutions
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately with a variety of stakeholders
- Excellent influencing and reasoning skills; good at conflict resolution and consensus building.
- Strong knowledge of cloud and network security best practices
- Knowledge of cloud security tools and techniques
- Experience with leveraging and managing IT offshore vendors
- Advanced experience with enterprise automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform etc
- Knowledge of containers, Kubernetes and similar tools
- Advanced knowledge of SecOps, DevOps and other agile operating models
- Experience with migrating workloads in a hybrid cloud environment
