Job Summary
The Dolomite Group is a subsidiary of CRH Plc (NYSE Ticker: CRH). This position supports the President, VP of Finance and Senior Management with the company's day-to-day accounting operations. The Assistant Controller will work closely with the VP of Finance & accounting team to support financial reporting, month-end close, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and other projects as necessary.

Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the accounting and payroll departments.
- Manage accounting staff and coordinate with operations during month-end close process.
- Maintain accounting records and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and other relevant accounting standards.
- Review all monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure appropriate backup.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Review and approve journal entries, AP Batches and Material Ticket / Invoice Batches.
- Assist with reviewing inventory and fixed asset activity to ensure accurate records.
- Prepare NYS and PA Sales and Use tax returns.
- Complete quarterly GAAP Reporting Pack schedules.
- Analyze monthly financial statements and be able to provide commentary on results.
- Assist the VP of Finance with budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
- Prepare other ad-hoc reports upon request to respond to corporate requests and/or support informed decision-making by senior management.
- Partner with business operations to analyze data and drive results.
- Present and explain results to various stakeholders in the organization.
- Manage and develop the accounting team by providing guidance, training, and leading their goal setting, performance evaluations. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Ensure adequate controls are installed and maintained to safeguard the financial assets of the company and ensure accurate financial reporting. This includes all SOX controls, CRH Americas Materials (CRH AMAT) and Northeast Division accounting policies and procedures.
- Support internal and external audits as directed by the VP of Finance.
- Post journal entries as needed.
- Work on ad hoc projects as directed.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance; CPA and / or Master's preferred
- 5+ years of experience in various accounting/finance functions
- Manufacturing and/or construction background is highly desired
- Demonstrated experience with SOX, cost accounting, inventory, budgeting, and forecasting
- Proven leadership skills a must
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.).
- Proven ability to develop relationships and to work with teams as both a leader and a participant
- Strong values and high standards of ethics, integrity, and trust.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Business acumen in manufacturing, distribution and/or construction operations.
- Action orientated individual with strong drive for results.
- Strong oral/written communication, presentation and listening skills.
- The ability to deal with ambiguity and facilitate change.
Compensation & Company Benefits
- Base Salary is $110,000 - $115,000 per year
