Summary:

To assist pharmacist in providing professional pharmacy services to the patients and staff of Cook Children's Medical Center and the community we serve.
• peration and maintenance of the central pharmacy purchasing function and inventory control to meet customer needs and assure high quality services and products in the most cost-effective manner.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate's degree preferred.
  • 5 years experience as a pharmacy technician preferred.
  • A basic knowledge of math, the metric system, chemistry, and medical terminology is essential.
  • • perate and maintain annual competency in all four production areas, including PO, IV, Narcotics, and Satellites.
  • Must have current knowledge of safety regulations in the department and in the implementation of new policies and procedures.
  • Proficient knowledge of operating system software, desktop applications such as excel, power point, etc., and pharmacy information system applications as they relate to pharmacy process workflow.
  • Good telephone skills and good oral communication skills are essential.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and problem solve.
  • A general knowledge of office procedures such as filing and record keeping is essential.
  • Current PTCB Pharmacy Technician certification & current Texas State Board Registration.
