Summary:

The Pharmacy Automation and Technology Supervisor provides guidance and direction on the use of medication management technology. This individual is responsible for the management and support of system-wide automated dispensing machines, inventory technology, infusion pumps, barcode-dispensing automation, and acting as liaison in the pharmacy informatics initiatives throughout the healthcare system. The Pharmacy Automation & Technology Supervisor will collaborate with CCHCS Information Services to ensure hardware, software, and interfaces are optimal to support safe, optimal patient care.

Qualifications:

  • High school or equivalent required, Associate's degree preferred.
  • 5 years' experience as a pharmacy technician or 2 years' experience in automation/informatics in a healthcare/healthcare technology setting is required, pediatric setting is preferred.
  • Experience in pharmacy automation and technology can include automated dispensing cabinets, automated IV workflow systems, inventory carousels, infusion pumps, or Epic EHR.
  • Knowledge of math, the metric system, and medical terminology is essential.
  • Knowledge of computers and demonstrable skill with applications; including word processing, spreadsheets and database management.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) and/or Texas State Board Technician registration preferred.
