Summary:

The Nurse Manager of Med/Surg and PICU unit is responsible for the clinical practice and personnel management. The nurse manager shall have the knowledge, authority, accountability and responsibility for the management of pediatric patient care within the unit. The nurse manager facilitates the Cook Childrens promise by ensuring an environment of caring, regulatory compliance, safety, and quality outcomes. Responsible for the provision of patient and family satisfaction and employee engagement.

This role is for 3rd shift.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • If Bachelor's degree not in nursing, applicant must possess Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • A minimum of two years clinical experience with previous management experience preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

  • Current permit or license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas.
  • Advanced certification in field of specialty preferred
  • Current BLS or PALS as per unit specialty as outlined in policy.
