Summary:
The Formula Room Tech is responsible for performing duties with the daily operating procedures of the formula room, which includes processing enteral formula orders for patients (neonatal through adolescent to adult), developing recipes according to physician's orders, preparing, delivering, and stocking enteral formula in patient care areas to meet the needs of each unit. The technician's responsibilities include the ordering, receiving and stocking of all formula-related items, ensuring that products are compliant with all current codes and are acceptable for use. Requisitions and inspects formula, supplies, and materials in order to maintain inventory levels and to ensure that standards of quality are met. This role assists the Formula Room Supervisor in operating the formula room in a manner that contributes to the achievement of organization goals and objectives, customer service, and quality improvement activities. Responsible for the acquisition, receiving, and maintenance of formula room stock. Responsible for maintaining cleaning and sanitation of equipment and work area.
Education & Experience:
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent certificate.
- 2-3 years' experience in institutional or commercial food service and/or customer service
- Demonstrated knowledge of weights and measures, perform mathematical calculations used in recipe conversions.
- Must be able to follow and relay oral and detailed written instructions, effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform duties throughout shift that require standing, walking, pushing up to 400# rolling carts, pulling, stooping, lifting up to 50# containers.
- Effective customer service skills.
- Ability to perform detailed assignments, follow directions, work under pressure, readily adapt to change in routine and work assignments, and relate to caregivers, families, and inter- and intra-departmental staff.
- Experience working with computers is preferred.

Certification/Licensure:
- Must have City of Ft. Worth Food Handlers Card prior to employment.
- Card must be current at all times during employment.
