Director - Consolidations and M&A Accounting

We are looking for an M&A Accounting Integration Director to join our Controllership Group. The individual will report to the Corporate Controller and will be responsible for overseeing the integration of all our acquired entities into Compass’s financial systems and processes. The individual will work with the accounting teams of the acquired entities, the outsourced teams as well as with the various functional teams across Compass on the integration process. At Compass You Will:

  • Single-point owner on the controllership team for integration related activities
  • Responsible for the end-to-end integration process from strategy design through integration completion
  • Responsible for creating a playbook for M&A accounting integrations
  • Develop and maintain a system of controls, policies, and procedures over integration activities
  • Design, develop and maintain KPIs and reports to manage the operations and efficiency of the integration process
  • Drive process improvement and re-engineer integration procedures toward a standard solution
  • Manage the integration process with a high focus on policy alignment
  • Maintain the integration checklist and monitor progress against milestones
  • Partner with the business development and operational integration teams on accounting related support 
  • Work with the accounts payable and procurement teams on vendor integrations
  • Work with the treasury team and the acquired entities on onboarding them to our banking platform
  • Collaborate with the close and consolidation teams to facilitate the transition of general ledger activities
  • Support the financial business systems team on system related integrations
  • Collaborate with various teams including payroll, deal review, financial planning and analysis and external reporting 
  • Provide excellent customer service by proactively managing issue resolution 
  • Other duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in accounting
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 6 or more years of supervisory experience 
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), strongly preferred
  • Combination of public accounting experience and private industry, required
  • Big 4 accounting firm experience is a plus
  • Experience working with/in consulting firms or large multinational businesses across multiple geographical entities
  • Experience working with various accounting systems, a plus  
  • Experience working in a multi-function shared services and/or outsourcing environment, a plus
  • Knowledge and Targeted Competencies
  • Advanced knowledge of US GAAP coupled with exceptional planning and organization skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with cross functional teams and upper management 
  • Strong communication and organizational skills as well as impeccable attention to details
  • Ability to multi-task and handle several deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong analysis, problem solving and decision-making skills 
  • Advanced excel skills, required
  • Experience with NetSuite, a plus

Compensation: The base pay range for this position is $121,000-$181,700 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonuses and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits. Base pay is based on market location. Minimum wage for the position will always be met.
