Payment Specialist - Financial Management & Payments

FMP is dedicated to supporting this mission by assisting clients in managing the billing, payment, and reporting components of their self-funded health plans. This includes administering payments to health plan partners, generating reports to fulfill our clients’ financial reporting requirements, and serving as the primary point of contact for our clients’ Finance and Accounting teams. The FMP team acts as a crucial liaison between our clients and their health plan partners, facilitating a seamless and efficient administration of self-insured health plans.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily core tasks related to member payments, adapting to ongoing changes within our department such as the integration of health partner payments and other relevant tasks.
- Conduct bank reconciliations.
- Manage the end-to-end member claim reimbursement process, which includes preparing and issuing checks, direct deposits, void and reissue requests, stale check handling, check invoice creation, conducting check issue research and resolution, account reconciliation, and collaborating with other CH teams to address member reimbursement issues.
- Communicate with MCA, Plan Ops, Systems, and other teams to coordinate responses to network, client, and customer inquiries, ensuring timely resolution of tickets in Zendesk.
- Update and manage knowledge base pages as improvements are implemented and workflows change.
- Enhance and refine the member payments process, contribute to future enhancements, and assist in the development of new internal software and Google Sheets. A self-motivated individual with a strong desire to improve processes is essential.
- Assist the FMP team with additional core processes as time allows.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field such as MCA, Plan Ops, or Systems.
- 1-2 years of prior experience with Assist, over-accumulation, overpayments, and/or network providers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Outstanding problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Familiarity with SQL, Python, or similar languages is a valuable asset for automating current processes.
Pay Transparency Statement
This is a hybrid position based in our Lehi office, with the expectation of being in the office at least two weekdays per week. #LI-hybrid
The actual pay rate offered will fall within a specified range and will depend on factors including geographic location, qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to the hourly rate, you will be eligible for stock options and benefits such as health insurance, 401k, and paid time off.
