Position Summary:
Hematopoietic Tissue Biorepository Core at City of Hope assist investigators in their research efforts aiming to combat cancer(s). We are looking for a RAI candidate to come on board and help with several projects that are currently in development. Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, or designee, the Research Associate I perform a variety of routine and complex research experiments.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Prepare findings and update the database system currently being used with new information.
- Assist others in lab with routine lab assignments given within study protocols.
- Conduct cell testing on various cell lines provided by the team supervisor and perform necessary cell culture.
- Verify numerical data in both digital and written form to ensure data errors recorded that may happen are minimal.
- Ensuring lab cleanliness and safety by maintaining equipment and appropriate lab attire always.
- Keeping all specimens correctly labeled and stored.
- Handles necessary administrative paperwork and documentation needed for protocol validation and research quality control.
- Occasionally perform internet searches to gather information and record findings in a manner pursuant of the core.
- A Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or related field
- 0-2 years of research/laboratory experience
- To protect the health of patients and staff and to comply with new State of California mandates, City of Hope staff are required to show proof of full vaccination by September 30, 2021. Compliance is a condition of employment.
