We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer – Retail Experience to simplify the complexity of Chewy’s e-commerce ecosystem across the customer journey. In this role, you’ll address high-impact problems across search, browse, cart, checkout, and more—designing experiences that are flawless, scalable, and smart.
- Design with impact. Translate customer insights and business objectives into sophisticated, scalable product experiences across platforms and devices.
- Lead the journey. Own the UX design process end-to-end—from early discovery, flows, and wireframes to high-fidelity visuals and production-ready assets.
- Simplify complexity. Create experiences that demystify the e-commerce ecosystem for pet parents, from their first search to their final checkout.
- Think in systems. Build for today and tomorrow by crafting flexible UX frameworks and contributing to a cohesive design system.
- Collaborate deeply. Partner with product managers, engineers, researchers, and content strategists to bring ideas to life—and push them even further.
- Communicate with clarity. Articulate design decisions clearly to teammates, partners, and executive leadership.
- Lead and mentor. Set a high bar for craft, process, and creativity while helping others grow in their design practice.
- You’re a strategic designer who sees the forest and the trees—balancing high-level system architecture with thoughtful attention to detail.
- You plan and prioritize optimally, taking ownership of your work while aligning with broader team and business goals.
- You build trust across teams through thoughtful collaboration, clear communication, and a shared focus on outcomes.
- You operate with depth and curiosity, always digging into the “why” behind customer behaviors and business needs.
- You mentor by example, actively contributing to a high-performing team and sharing your knowledge to elevate design quality.
- 5+ years of experience in UX/Product Design, Interaction Design, or similar.
- 1+ years of experience leading large-scale product design initiatives.
- Strong portfolio showcasing user-centered solutions that drive measurable impact.
- Experience designing sophisticated, cross-platform customer journeys (especially e-commerce).
- Deep understanding of design systems, usability, and UX standard processes.
- Strong storytelling and communication skills, including presenting to senior leaders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or related field—or equivalent professional experience.
- Ability to travel as needed and work from one of our local offices.
