Chevron is accepting online applications for the 2 positions of Software Engineer located in Bangkok, Thailand through 3 February 2022 at 11:59 PM.

This position will join the Digital Delivery team in providing delivering platform specific or cross platform solutions. Looking for software engineers that designs and implements complex software solutions. Comfortable working in an Agile environment with an evolving set of technologies, software languages and frameworks. Versed in software development, cloud, integration, cybersecurity, and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Consistently delivers innovative and complete solutions, driving them through design, planning, development, deployment and support, that simplify business processes and workflows to drive business value.

Advocates solid software development best practices and standard tools to ensure quality and maintainable digital solutions that include modularity, scalability, observability and integration.

  • Develop software solution leveraging established Chevron technology standards and collaborate with internal partners to develop new technology standards as needs arise.

  • Provides technical leadership both tactical (day to day activities) and strategic (big picture, vision) to support business strategies.

  • Works on key projects and digital innovation initiatives following Agile principles.

  • Maintains working knowledge of the latest software engineering tools and practices for continuous integration, unit tests, static and dynamic profiling, code coverage, code analysis, and automated tests.

  • Coaches other software engineers to build with engineering discipline through mentoring and code reviews.

  • Skills Requirements

    • Technical depth and functional knowledge in software engineering and systems architecture. Has a keen eye for good architecture and the ability to develop new architecture and frameworks.

    • Demonstrated experience leading and delivering medium & large /complex enterprise scale projects through all phases of software development lifecycle (plan, design, develop, test, release, maintain and support, decommission) and how to manage technical dependencies.

    • Proficiency and hands-on experience in majority of the following technologies/practices:

      • Microsoft Azure solution stack (IaaS and PaaS) with proven ability to identify appropriate Azure service(s) to address business requirements.

      • .NET Core, C#, JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, etc.

      • Web technologies (Angular, React, etc.)

      • API and Integration (e.g. Data Factory, API Management, Logic Apps, Azure Functions), custom web services (WCF and/or RESTful services), Swagger / OpenAPI

      • OAuth / OpenID Connect concepts

      • Source control, source control practices and Azure Repos (e.g. Git and GitFlow)

      • CI/CD processes (Azure DevOps pipelines, Ansible)

      • Code quality (unit tests, static and dynamic profiling, code coverage, code analysis, and automated tests)

      • SQL database

    • Agile Development: Knowledge of and ability to utilize formal agile methodologies, disciplines, practices and techniques for the delivery of new and enhanced applications.

    • Interest in and ability to learn new technologies and techniques.  Puts learning into action by modernizing applications through re-platforming, re-architecting, re-engineering, and automation.

    • Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence with various personas in the organization which includes management, peers, vendors, and stakeholders across disciplines, geographies, and time zones.

    • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking and analytical skills to independently troubleshoot issues and deliver on results.
