Sr Specialist - Software Development & Engineering

Lead a team of engineers in the design, implementation, and operation of highly reliable and scalable software systems. Develop and implement tools and processes to automate and improve the reliability of systems, troubleshoot and resolve production issues. Practice and lead the team with Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps mindset and solve problems through automation and innovation. Collaborate with the Architects and SMEs in AST to ensure implementations are architected and designed from the aspect of production resiliency. Identify opportunities to build innovative tools, solve unique operations problems on large enterprise and mission critical applications. Develop tools, frameworks, and instrumentation to validate and increase rollout success for applications. Work closely with dev teams during design phase, build and perform infrastructure upgrades to support our applications availability and reliability. Must live within reasonable commuting distance. Reports to company office in Austin, TX. Subject to Schwab's internal approach to workplace flexibility.

Salary Range: $139,464 - $160,800

What you have

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field and 60 months of progressive, post-Bachelor's experience in a related occupation. Alternatively, a Master's degree and 36 months of experience. Experience must include the following: Programming languages Python and PowerShell; Monitoring and diagnostic tools: Elastic, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, and NewRelic; Database management systems Oracle, SQL Server, Mongo DB, and NoSQL; Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and configuration management tools Ansible and Puppet; Git, JIRA and related Atlassian stack; Server administration and Data Networks, including DNS, DHCP, firewalls, load balancers, Network Attached Storage (NAS), and IP routing; and Transitioning platforms to the cloud and work in Cloud Environments.
